Setanta Vehicle Importers Ltd recalls certain Renault Master IV commercial vehicles.
The risk description reported to us is that when the specifications were updated, the breakage force on the accelerator pedal stop was omitted and therefore not taken into account in the accelerator pedal support survey for right-hand-drive MASTER IV vehicles. As a consequence the breakage force on the accelerator pedal stop is lower than the value prescribed in the technical specification, hence the accelerator pedal stop could break at the point where the accelerator pedal is attached if the pedal is pressed with excessive force. This might occur when the vehicle is in motion, if the driver applies excessive force to the accelerator pedal. Possible consequences: the driver would not be able to accelerate the vehicle and would lose traction.
