Danfay Limited recalls certain Yamaha MT-07, Ténéré 700, Tracer 7, XSR700 model vehicles.
27 March 2025
Danfay Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall on certain Yamaha model vehicles.
A safety issue has been identified whereby the clutch fails to disengage – despite the clutch lever having been pulled and therefore drags. This is caused by the properties of the corrosion inhibitor. If the corrosion inhibitor mixes with material that wears off the friction plate, the heat generated while the vehicle is moving leads to the formation of a viscous substance. In the worst-case scenario, the vehicle starts moving from a standstill with a gear engaged, despite the clutch lever having been pulled. This can lead to an increased risk of injury.
There are 193 units affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 01 December 2022 to 26 October 2024.
