Gowan Distributors Limited (Opel Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Opel Grandland V2 model vehicles.
A safety issue has been identified whereby in certain Opel/Vauxhall Grandland V2 models, the fixing screws on the front left and right ball joint mount on the front lower suspension arm may break. One missing screw has no effect but two missing screws will cause the ball joint mount to pivot and the affected wheel to change direction and hit the mudguard, which may affect the steering capacity of the vehicle in the worst-case scenario.
There are 612 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 08 May 2024 and 27 February 2025.

A safety issue has been identified whereby on some Opel Zafira and Vivaro / Vauxhall Vivaro vehicles fitted with a DW10F EUR 6.4 engine, a diagnostic test to detect urea consumption inefficiency (i.e. under-consumption, blocked urea injector) may result in an In-Use-Performance-Ratio (IUPR) below the statutory threshold (0.336). This could lead to a failure to comply with regulatory requirements concerning emissions.

Analysis of the batteries returned during the recent recall (replacement of high-voltage battery) detected an unidentified failure mode.

A safety issue has been identified whereby on certain vehicles may be affected by damage to the oil jet cooling nozzles. Failure to cool the crankshaft and/or pistons may damage them and cause the engine to stall. In the worst-case scenario, a hole could form in the engine casing; if oil leaks onto the exhaust pipe, it is possible that a fire could start in the engine compartment, which could lead to the vehicle catching fire.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the current routing of the cable bundle of the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat, means the bundle may be damaged by metal parts when the seat back is the rearmost position (potential contact between the bundle and the seat rail’s end stop). Analysis of the cables has shown that the seat’s airbag may be impacted in the worst-case scenario and that there is a potential risk of a short-circuit.
