A safety issue has been identified with Petzl Astro rope access Harnesses manufactured before October 2023.

When the harness is used in a way that puts high lateral pressure on the attachment point, the screws can wear out prematurely. If this happens, the ventral D-ring’s pin can release. This may cause the attachment point to open, which could result in serious injury or death.
